Final Statements

When exploring the Webventure Career Fair, it is important to observe it as if you were online, specifically on Indeed.com, desperately looking for a post-grad job. This anxiety is felt by thousands upon thousands of young professionals every day. Not only is there the fear you will not be hired but there is also always a touch of external anxiety around what you want your life purpose to be. It is as if every addition to your resume will be equated to a final sum, not just a story, but a meaning. If only the profession we choose could create meaning for the way we experience this world. I wanted to highlight the sacrifice you had to choose per job; high salary but no fun, health care but no paid leave. I also wanted to turn the narrative and make each job position light-hearted and unexpected. My favorite idea was the dog therapist and stand-in funeral attendee. After watching my peer's thorough web pages, I added more unique and funny endings to each job. This process made me smile as I continue to remind myself; life is not that deep. We do not need a perfect opportunity, an idealized job, or even a sense of meaning to survive in this world. Those factors just help ease our minds.
